 Role Overview

This is a comprehensive litigation attorney position focused on leading civil defense and insurance litigation matters from initial case inception through final resolution or trial. Working in a hybrid capacity out of the Milwaukee, WI office, you will handle independent complex caseloads, direct detailed claim evaluations, and build lasting partnerships with key claim professionals and corporate stakeholders.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management & Resolution: Autonomously take complex civil litigation and insurance defense cases from inception through final resolution or trial.
  • Depositions & Hearings: Conduct and defend confident, high-stakes depositions, prepare technical witness testimony, and represent clients at court hearings.
  • Strategic Claim Evaluation: Evaluate intricate insurance claims with absolute precision, identifying proactive resolution windows before escalation.
  • Negotiation & Advocacy: Excel in both high-pressure pre-litigation and post-litigation settlement negotiations to achieve ideal structural outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain consistent communication and build trusted partnerships with claims professionals, corporate clients, and public agencies.

 Required Qualifications

  • Education & Licensing: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
  • Core Litigation Experience: Proven experience as a practicing litigation attorney independently managing complex civil or insurance defense caseloads.
  • Procedural Mastery: Strong understanding of local court procedures, statutory deadlines, legal research methodologies, and court rules.
  • Practice Diversification: Willingness and capability to scale caseloads across multiple focus areas including product liability, bodily injury, trucking, and auto defense.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Past legal experience handling Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or commercial transportation cases.
  • Demonstrated first-chair or second-chair trial experience in state or federal courts.
  • Prior background handling cases involving governmental entities, toxic torts, or workers' compensation defense.
