Job description

At WGK Personal Injury Lawyers, you'll play a crucial role in helping clients navigate their legal journeys. As a Personal Injury Legal Assistant, you'll be at the forefront of our mission, ensuring that individuals receive the best representation. You'll manage cases, keep detailed records, and be the primary point of contact for active clients, allowing them to focus on healing. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to provide compassionate, professional support across a high-volume caseload.


We're seeking someone with a strong eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a genuine passion for helping others. Prior experience as a legal assistant and in personal injury case management is essential. Compensation:

$25 - $31 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for active clients, providing regular case status updates, answering inquiries, and offering compassionate support throughout the legal process.
  • Case Management: Gather necessary information for new and existing cases, communicate with clients regularly, and maintain up-to-date records in Filevine and Lead Docket. The majority of your caseload will consist of auto accidents and auto-adjacent matters, including pedestrian, bicycle, motorcycle, truck, and scooter accidents, as well as premises liability and dog bite cases.
  • Medical Records and Billing Management: Request and organize medical records, bills, and supporting documentation related to personal injury cases, ensuring accuracy for settlement negotiations or trial.
  • Lost Wage and PIP/MedPay Claims: Open and manage first-party claims on behalf of clients, including PIP, MedPay, and lost wage claims. Gather required documentation, contact insurance carriers, submit claim paperwork, track claim numbers and adjuster assignments, and follow up to ensure timely processing.
  • Client File Organization: Maintain comprehensive and organized electronic client files, ensuring confidentiality and easy accessibility for all case-related documents.
  • Document Preparation and Filing: Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents, including settlement demands, in a timely and accurate manner.




Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in personal injury case management, preferably in auto accident and premises liability cases.
  • Prior experience as a legal assistant required.
  • Proficiency in legal software applications.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable communicating directly with insurance companies.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Independent problem solver.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Workers' compensation experience is a strong plus.
