Paralegal (Personal Injury / General Practice)

Jefferson City, MO | Full-Time | Onsite

A well-established law firm in Jefferson City is seeking a Paralegal to join its team. This opportunity is available due to the departure of a long-tenured employee and offers the chance to work closely with attorneys handling a variety of matters in a collaborative legal environment.

Depending on experience, the selected candidate may support personal injury matters involving insurance companies, liens, and medical records, or provide broader legal support to attorneys across multiple practice areas.


Job Description

  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and related materials
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, appointments, and case schedules
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files
  • Conduct client intake and maintain client communications
  • Communicate with insurance companies and third parties as needed
  • Request, organize, and review medical records
  • Track and manage liens and supporting documentation
  • Perform legal research and assist with case preparation
  • Prepare and electronically file documents through Missouri CaseNet
  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and fellow staff members
  • Support a busy caseload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail


Requirements

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience preferred
  • Personal injury experience strongly preferred
  • Experience drafting legal documents and court filings
  • Knowledge of electronic filing procedures
  • Strong organizational, calendaring, and case management skills
  • Professional communication skills with clients, attorneys, and outside parties
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • High School Diploma required
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Missouri Notary preferred
  • Law firm experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates with strong administrative backgrounds and transferable skills will also be considered

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000+ DOE
