Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the personal injury claims process
  • Familiarity with medical records, medical bills, liens, and insurance claims
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases
  • Professional telephone and client communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with legal case management software is a plus
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a small team

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing personal injury cases from intake through settlement
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding their cases and treatment
  • Obtain and organize medical records and medical bills
  • Follow up with medical providers regarding records, bills, and balances
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters and insurance companies
  • Maintain accurate and organized client files
  • Track client treatment and medical appointments
  • Assist with preparation of settlement demands
  • Assist with reviewing medical records and bills
  • Assist with obtaining lien and subrogation information
  • Prepare correspondence to clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and attorneys
  • Assist with settlement documentation and settlement disbursements
  • Maintain case deadlines and follow-up tasks
  • Enter and maintain information in the firm's case management system
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation and administrative tasks
  • Answer and return client telephone calls
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients
  • Perform other legal assistant duties as assigned

We are looking for a Personal Injury Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience, be highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable communicating with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and attorneys.

This is a hands-on position in a small law firm, and the successful candidate will have an opportunity to take an active role in managing personal injury cases.

The ideal candidate does not need to be an experienced paralegal, but should understand the basic personal injury process and be comfortable learning and taking on additional responsibilities.

Because we are a small firm, every team member is important. We are looking for someone who will treat our clients with respect, follow through on assignments, communicate effectively with the attorney and other staff, and take pride in keeping case files organized and moving forward.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
