Job Title: House Manager & Personal Assistant
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11217
Employment Type: Part-time (15 hours/week guaranteed)
Proposed Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $35-40/hour based on experience
Proposed Schedule: 5 days per week: Monday-Friday; Hours: 2 or 3:00 PM-6:00 PM; flexible for the right person.
Requirements:
  • Must maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Have a clean driving record and be comfortable driving family vehicle on occasion for errands
  • Vaccinated (COVID and Flu preferred)
  • Comfortable with light childcare backup as needed
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and anticipate household needs
  • Positive attitude with a sense of humor, flexible with evolving needs

These responsibilities include organizing the home, light meal preparation, managing errands, household and personal projects and offering light pet care when needed. Our aim is to find someone who can help streamline daily life, relieving some of the household workload so the parents can devote more time to both their careers and family activities. This role is crucial to helping maintain the household's systems and ensure everything runs smoothly, allowing us to focus on what truly matters. As our family's needs evolve, we're seeking a supportive partner who will adapt and grow with us.

Key Responsibilities:
Household Management & Organization:
  • Daily general tidying: load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas.
  • Organize the pantry and manage household inventory
  • Oversee package management: pickup, unboxing, breaking down boxes, and returns
  • Coordinate one-off household projects (e.g., art installations, creating organization systems)
  • Organize closets and manage household storage and rotation of seasonal decor and items.
Meal Planning & Preparation:
  • Prepare simple, healthy meals for toddler (including baby recipes and freezer meals)
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized post-prep
  • Assist with grocery shopping and coordinate food deliveries
Laundry & Linen Care:
  • Wash, dry, fold, organize, and put away family laundry, focusing primarily on parents' laundry.
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies.
Pet Care:
  • Assist with occasional trips to the groomer or vet
  • Launder dog beds and blankets
  • Keep pet supplies stocked
Errands:
  • Manage errands in the family car such as car washes, donation drop offs, and trips to the nearby storage unit
  • Handle local shopping and returns, dry cleaning, gift buying, and other family errands
Administrative & Personal Support (can be done remotely where appropriate):
  • Manage family calendars and schedule appointments (e.g., pediatrician, vet)
  • Online research for family activities, purchases and other needs
  • Support with organizing family-related tasks like event preparations
