Personal assistants can work in a business context, assist with personal tasks, or help with a combination of both business and personal tasks. A personal assistant may be required to make phone calls, write emails, organize schedules, run errands, and make appointments. Job duties may also include making travel arrangements, completing expense reporting, acting as a liaison with other staff, and managing special projects.

Our client is seeking a highly organized, mature, and discreet Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive day-to-day support to a private individual completing her senior year at a highly regarded university in New York City.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys combining personal assistance, academic support, executive-function organization, and lifestyle coordination. The successful candidate will become a trusted support person, helping manage a demanding schedule and keeping academic, professional, and personal priorities organized.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage calendars, appointments, deadlines, and daily schedules
  • Provide academic organization, research, writing, editing, and project support
  • Assist with thesis planning and long-term academic deadlines
  • Coordinate communications with university personnel and other professionals as appropriate

  • Help maintain routines and organization during periods of increased demands
  • Provide occasional light physical and mobility assistance as needed
  • Oversee select household and personal tasks
  • Assist with care of a small dog
  • Maintain a calm, professional, and supportive presence while exercising excellent judgment and discretion
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be emotionally intelligent, resourceful, dependable, and exceptionally organized. They should be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and anticipating needs without requiring constant direction.
Experience in an academic, executive assistant, personal assistant, education, healthcare coordination, or similarly demanding environment is highly valued. Strong writing and research skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality are essential.

This position would be particularly well suited to someone who is calm under pressure, intellectually curious, adaptable, and genuinely enjoys being a trusted support person.

Compensation: $45-$55/hour DOE + healthcare stipend
Location: New York City, NY
Schedule: Full-Time
Confidentiality and discretion are essential.
