JOB TITLE: Inspector - Fabrication/Assembly
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $41.00/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Performs structures and composite repair on aircraft assemblies and components.

  • Performs assembly mechanic duties for systems, payload structures, fuselage, underwing composites, metals, and process operations.

  • Certifies for systems inspection function and performs inspection tasks including first article review.

  • Conducts root cause analysis and corrective action investigations for non-conformances.

  • Performs process and hardware audits and surveillances to ensure compliance with requirements.

  • Performs sealing inspection for assembly and post-assembly operations.

  • Performs electrical bond and ground inspection using meters and final inspection procedures.

  • Uses precision measuring tools and performs skin quality inspection for airframe components.

  • Inspects solid rivets, blind fasteners, hex-drive bolts, lockbolts, bolts, nuts, and fasteners on composites.

  • Researches and creates Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) in MES and maintains quality records.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Structures and composite repair experience on aircraft is required.

  • Knowledge of systems and payload structures, assembly, fuselage assembly, underwing composites, metals, and process operations.

  • Ability to certify for systems inspection function and perform inspection duties.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis and corrective action.

  • Ability to perform process and hardware audits and surveillances.

  • Must pass written and practical tests: Assembly Sealing, Post Assembly Sealing, Electrical Bond and Ground (all meters), Electrical Bond Final Inspection, Precision Measuring Tools, and Skin Quality Inspection.

  • Must pass classes on Solid Rivet Inspection, Blind Fastener Inspection, Hex-Drive Bolt Inspection, Lockbolt Inspection, Bolt and Nut Inspection, Fastener Inspection on Composites, and NCR creation in MES.

  • Ability to work in cleanroom environment for composite fabrication and structure work on 787.

  • Must obtain inspector stamp within specified days after training and maintain required certifications.
