Qualifications:
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machining centers.
- Experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining preferred.
- Ability to independently perform complete machine setups and troubleshoot production issues.
- Strong blueprint reading skills with working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience machining tight-tolerance components.
- Proficient with precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
- Working knowledge of shop mathematics (SAE & Metric).
- Experience performing tool changes, offset adjustments, fixture setup, and basic CNC program verification.
- Comfortable collaborating with Engineering, Programming, Tooling, and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment.
Essential Duties:
- Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machining centers to manufacture precision components.
- Machine parts from aluminum extrusions, forgings, plate, bar stock, and fabricated assemblies.
- Load, verify, and execute CNC programs while monitoring machine performance and part quality.
- Perform complete machine setups including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and program verification.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI), program prove-outs, and support new product introductions.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues while working closely with Engineering, Programming, Tooling, and Quality.
- Identify opportunities to improve setup efficiency, machining processes, and overall productivity.
- Complete routine machine maintenance and maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
