About this opportunity:

Calling all Early Career Professionals! Ericsson is looking for a skilled In-Building RF Design & Optimization Engineer to support the design, deployment, optimization, and performance management of indoor wireless network solutions. This role brings together expertise in both RF Design Engineering and RF Optimization Engineering, supporting a wide range of indoor and special event environments - including stadiums, hospitals, warehouses, factories, business offices, transportation hubs, and other large public venues. You will apply strong technical knowledge of LTE and 5G NR technologies, in-building wireless solutions, Ericsson RAN products, and industry-standard RF engineering tools, working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams while serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers.

What you will do:
  • Develop comprehensive RF designs for indoor wireless deployments across stadiums, hospitals, warehouses, business offices, factories, and enterprise environments
  • Use iBwave to create and maintain detailed 3D venue models, including product placement, cable routing, labeling, and baseband dimensioning
  • Lead LTE and 5G NR RF design activities to ensure optimal coverage, capacity, and performance
  • Design Ericsson Radio Dot System (RDS), Passive DAS, and other in-building wireless solutions using Ericsson RAN products
  • Conduct site surveys and assess construction requirements to support design development and deployment planning
  • Perform RF analysis to address sectorization, interference mitigation, SINR optimization, and macro-to-indoor interaction challenges
  • Generate, validate, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for Ericsson and third-party equipment
  • Lead real-time optimization activities for indoor venues, stadiums, special events, temporary deployments, small cells, and Cell-on-Wheels (COW) solutions
  • Analyze walk test data, network KPIs, and performance metrics to identify coverage, capacity, throughput, mobility, and quality issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex RF performance issues through root cause analysis and corrective action plans
  • Serve as the primary customer point of contact for assigned markets, regions, or projects
  • Deliver post-optimization reports, performance assessments, and actionable recommendations
  • Coordinate and guide remote engineering teams to support successful project execution
The skills you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field; Master's degree is a plus
  • Minimum 3-5 years of RF engineering experience, with at least 3 years supporting in-building wireless deployments
  • Advanced proficiency with iBwave for indoor wireless design and modeling
  • Strong knowledge of LTE and 5G NR technologies, including NSA and SA architectures
  • Experience with Ericsson RAN products, EPP, TEMS, ENM, Baseband, Radios, and LPRU
  • Familiarity with Active DAS, Passive DAS, Radio Dot System (RDS), small cells, and distributed antenna systems
  • Understanding of RF propagation, link budget analysis, SINR optimization, interference mitigation, network KPI analysis, and mobility/handover performance
  • Experience with 5G NR, Massive MIMO, mmWave, CBRS, LAA, LTE, and IoT solutions
  • Strong customer-facing communication, consulting, and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead technical projects, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically.

Your Pay

The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Health

Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time

Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
