Role Overview

A leading packaging business specialising in label solutions is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across the New England region, with a strong focus on the Greater Boston market.

This is a highly commercial, field-based role centred on developing new business, growing key accounts, and expanding market share across sectors such as food & beverage, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, personal care, household products, and consumer goods.

You'll adopt a consultative, solutions-led approach, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality label solutions, including pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, booklet labels, extended content labels, and specialty decoration technologies that support both branding and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional business development strategy across the Greater Boston and New England market
  • Identify, target, and win new business opportunities within key manufacturing sectors
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with brand owners, contract manufacturers, co-packers, and key decision-makers
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to implementation and account development
  • Work closely with internal operations, customer service, and production teams to deliver innovative label solutions
  • Provide market intelligence on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM reporting

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in label sales or a closely related packaging sector
  • Strong knowledge of the New England manufacturing landscape
  • Experience selling into industries such as food & beverage, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, personal care, or consumer goods
  • Understanding of label technologies including pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, booklet labels, RFID labels, or flexible packaging would be advantageous
  • A consultative sales approach with the ability to uncover customer challenges and develop value-added solutions
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and business acumen
  • Self-motivated, driven, and comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role.3

What's on Offer

  • A key growth role within an established and respected label manufacturing business
  • Strong earning potential with a competitive base salary and uncapped commission structure
  • Autonomy to develop your territory and make a significant commercial impact
  • Support from an experienced operations, technical, and customer service team
  • Opportunity to work with a diverse customer base across one of the strongest manufacturing regions in the US
