Job description

Position Summary:

This position is directly responsible for coordinating with the Distribution Manager all assigned delivery services to Menehune Water Company customers. The CDL B Distribution Route Driver safely operates a commercial delivery vehicle to deliver 5-gallon water products along assigned routes, providing excellent customer service while adhering to all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies.


Salary Information:

Annual exempt salary of $45,819.84 during the initial training period. Upon successful completion of training, compensation transitions to an annual base salary plus commission.


Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Valid government-issued ID for I-9 employment eligibility verification

  • Valid State of Hawaii CDL Class B (or Class A) driver’s license with clean abstract

  • Current CDL Medical Card

  • Sensitivity to confidential matters required


Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of delivery, route driving, or distribution experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to operate commercial vehicles safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations

  • Ability to consistently lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently (5-gallon water bottles, approx. 46 lbs each), delivering up to 200 bottles per day

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment

  • Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to assigned schedules

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions


Key Responsibilities:


Route Operations:

  • Report for work in driver’s uniform (MWC logo collared shirt, covered shoes with socks) at the MWC Drivers Office at assigned start time

  • Clear assigned box/tray of all paperwork and complete route list

  • Check with office staff for status on all delinquent accounts

  • Retrieve assigned radio/cell phone and hand truck

  • Check vehicle to confirm it is loaded with the appropriate supply of water, cups, cases, coolers, etc. for the day’s deliveries

  • Ensure required coolers are signed out with warehouse personnel

  • Return to warehouse to re-load vehicle if additional water is needed to complete required deliveries


Vehicle & Safety:

  • Ensure driver’s license is in possession while operating a company vehicle

  • Complete Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Report Form as required

  • Obey all State traffic laws and the company’s safety driving program; drivers are responsible for all moving violations and parking tickets

  • Inspect and maintain cleanliness of delivery vehicles

  • Report accidents, damage, or safety concerns immediately to the Distribution Manager

  • Carry radio at all times and respond to radio calls promptly


Customer Service:

  • Provide professional and courteous service to all customers and members of the public while performing duties and representing the company

  • Address customer concerns and escalate issues to the Distribution Manager when necessary

  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times


Administrative:

  • Complete delivery documentation including invoices, route logs, and reports

  • Maintain accurate delivery and customer records

  • Complete other related duties as assigned by the Distribution Manager


Work Schedule:

  • Full-time

  • Monday–Friday

  • Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required
