The Document Control Specialist for Voyager Energetics is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining effective control of documented information in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. This role ensures that all documents are properly created, reviewed, approved, distributed, and archived to support operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and quality management system (QMS) effectiveness.
The position reports to the Quality Manager and is part of the Quality based in Penrose, CO This role is onsite Penrose CO
Key Responsibilities
Document Control & ISO Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain document control procedures aligned with ISO 9001:2015 Clause 7.5 (Documented Information).
  • Ensure all documents are reviewed, approved, and updated as required prior to issue.
  • Control the distribution, access, retrieval, and use of documented information.
  • Prevent unintended use of obsolete documents and ensure proper identification if retained.
  • Maintain document registers, master lists, and revision histories
Document Lifecycle Management
  • Manage the full lifecycle of documents including creation, revision, approval, distribution, and archiving.
  • Ensure proper version control and traceability of all engineering, quality, and project documents.
  • Standardize templates, formats, and numbering systems.
Coordination & Communication
  • Liaise with engineering, quality, operations, procurement, and project teams to ensure timely document submission and approval.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on document control procedures and systems.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (clients, vendors, auditors) regarding document requirements.
In this role, the essential functions are:
Quality Management System (QMS) Support
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure documentation supports process effectiveness and consistency across departments.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing accurate and traceable documentation.
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements in document control processes.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Information Management, or related field
Experience
  • 3-7 years of experience in document control within engineering, manufacturing, or construction environments
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001-certified organization
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements, particularly documented information control
  • Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Aconex, EDMS platforms)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
The good faith base salary range for this role is $75,000-$110,000at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
