Job description

Holec and Young Eye Care is seeking a dependable, organized, and patient-focused team member to join our front office in Rapid City, SD. As a busy five-doctor optometric practice, we are committed to providing exceptional eye care while creating a welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Our Receptionists are often the first point of contact for our patients and play an essential role in delivering outstanding customer service while helping our office operate efficiently each day. If you enjoy working with people, staying organized, and being part of a supportive healthcare team, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and a positive attitude
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient questions
  • Schedule new and existing patient appointments
  • Confirm appointments and help maintain an efficient daily schedule
  • Check patients in and out while ensuring accurate patient information
  • Verify insurance information and update patient records
  • Collect co-pays, balances, and other patient payments
  • Assist with referrals and coordination of patient information
  • Prepare, scan, fax, and organize medical records and office documents
  • Perform data entry and other administrative support duties
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
  • Work closely with providers and fellow team members to support outstanding patient care

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working directly with patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and excellent organizational abilities are essential.

Previous experience in reception, customer service, healthcare, medical office administration, or an optometry practice is preferred but not required.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position averaging approximately 35-40 hours per week.

Team members typically work four weekdays from approximately 8:00 AM to 5:45 PM (scheduled day off determined by the practice) along with every other Saturday from 7:00 AM to 12:15 PM.

Our office is open Monday through Friday, with limited Saturday hours to best serve our patients.
