Job Title: Optometrist
Company: Bright Eyes Optometry
Location: Westchester, New York
Job Type: Part Time
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, patient-focused Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to join our established practice as a part-owner. This opportunity is designed for a clinician who wants meaningful equity, a consistent part-time schedule, and the ability to help shape the long-term direction of a growing eye-care business.
This is an excellent opportunity to practice while gaining a meaningful ownership position in a patient-centered practice.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will work one day per week in the practice while acquiring and holding a 20% ownership interest along side other doctors who willhold the same position. They will provide comprehensive medical and primary eye-care services, support clinical standards, and participate in high-level business decisions appropriate to their ownership role.
This is an ideal opportunity for an optometrist seeking to own a practice without committing to a full-time clinical schedule.
- Deliver high-quality comprehensive eye examinations and patient-centered medical optometric care.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage ocular disease within scope of practice.
- Provide medical eye-care services, including evaluation and management of conditions such as dry eye disease, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, cataracts, and ocular infections.
- Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and therapeutic treatments as appropriate.
- Co-manage surgical and specialty eye-care patients with ophthalmology and other referral partners when needed.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and meet professional, regulatory, billing, privacy, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with optical staff, technicians, and administrative personnel to ensure an excellent patient experience.
- Contribute to practice-level decisions as a minority owner, including clinical quality, patient experience, growth planning, and operational improvements.
- Support a collegial, ethical, and service-oriented workplace culture.
## Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution.
- Current unrestricted optometry license in NYS
- Authorization to diagnose and treat ocular disease, including therapeutic prescribing privileges where applicable.
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based medical eye care.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build long-term patient relationships and partners.
- Interest in practice ownership, business performance, and collaborative decision-making.
- Experience in medical optometry, ocular disease management, or private practice is preferred.
Ownership Opportunity
The selected optometrist will have the opportunity to acquire a 20% ownership stake in the practice. The final ownership structure, purchase price, payment terms, voting rights, profit distributions, buy-sell provisions, and responsibilities will be documented through appropriate legal and financial agreements.
Candidates should be prepared to discuss their interest in ownership, preferred investment structure, and vision for contributing to the practice's clinical and financial growth.
## What We Offer
- A predictable one-day-per-week clinical schedule.
- An excellent opportunity to build and practice **medical optometry** in an established setting.
- A genuine pathway to minority ownership rather than an employee-only role.
- An established patient base and operational support.
- A professional, collaborative environment.
- Flexibility for an optometrist balancing other clinical, family, academic, or business commitments.
- The opportunity to participate in the financial upside and strategic development of the practice.
Please submit a CV along with a brief letter describing:
- Your clinical background, ocular disease experience, and current licensure.
- Why a one-day-per-week medical optometry and ownership role appeals to you.
- Your interest in acquiring a 20% stake in an optometric practice.
- Your preferred contact information and availability for an introductory conversation.
We welcome inquiries from qualified optometrists or ophthalmologists seeking a flexible path to practice ownership.

Flexible work from home options available.
