We are looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our highly professional team of specialists that provides detailed engineering and project management on bridge design projects. Your primary task in our team will be to liaise with clients, technical staff, accounting staff, and other support staff to manage overall project deliverables, schedules, and budgets. You will plan and develop engineering projects including the definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, development of concepts and approaches, and making key technical decisions.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Lead teams of engineers and technicians producing drawings and calculations along with supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of other engineers
  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Perform structural analysis, design, evaluation and be responsible for the preparation of calculations and drawings
  • Prepare standard documents, such as technical specifications, under applicable design codes along with engineering reports and other technical documents
  • Research and review design options for both technical and financial impact
  • Liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed

On top of that, you should:
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structures focus, a master's degree preferred
  • 8 to 15 years of related experience in Bridge Design and Project Management
  • Preferably have experience with complex bridges and 3D structural modeling using software such as CSI Bridge, Sofistik, and ADINA
  • Have advanced technical skills and experience in the design and construction of bridges and working with modern bridge design codes
  • Be a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia, Maryland, DC or can obtain
  • Preferably have experience with preparing proposals and leading in business development
