Job description

Perimeter Behavioral Healthcare of Forrest City has a great opportunity for a full-time Lead Mental Health Technician. We are seeking individuals who are committed to improving our patient’s lives by using a patient centered, collaborative approach to providing high quality of care.

Our Lead Mental Health Technician responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Care for our patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
  • Conduct Handle with Care, BLS and MHT Academy trainings.
  • Precept/Train new and existing MHTs. 
  • Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.
  • Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
  • Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with daily living skills.
  • Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment.
  • Provide physical restraint or intervention if appropriate. Training will be provided.

Qualifications for the Lead Mental Health Technician should include the following:

Education: High School Degree or equivalent. It is preferred to have educational or work experience in psychology, human service, nursing, or social work environments.

Experience: At least three (3) years of related experience in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience required.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of training in BLS and Handle with Care training within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
