Have day and night shifts available. We are seeking individuals who are committed to improving the lives of those impacted by mental illness.
The Mental Health Technician's responsibilities include the following:
  • Care for our patients daily by obtaining vital signs, assessing their behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
  • Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient's behavior.
  • Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
  • Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with the discharge process too.
  • Assist them with verbal de-escalation when they are agitated.
  • Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
Qualified candidates for Mental Health Technician should have the following:
  • Must have a High School Diploma with 1-year direct care experience with Mental Health patients or 1 year Corpsman experience.
  • Or, have a bachelor's degree in social work or psychology with some experience with mental health patients.
  • Or be a Certified Nursing Assistant with previous experience working with mental health patients.
  • Basic Life Support certified and able to obtain Handle with Care Certificate during orientation.
  • Must be willing to work assigned shift and be willing to work rotating weekends.
