Job description

Job Title: Social Worker LCSW

Pay Range: $38.57 - $47.92 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Social Worker LCSW interprets the nature of the illness and prescribes a course of treatment to patients and families. The Social Worker LCSW also mentors and clinically supervises LSWs and students as per license requirements and field instruction as directed.

The New Point Specialty is a 15-bed psychiatric facility specialty bed serving adolescents who are residents of NJ between the ages of 14 and 18. Services are voluntary. The Children System of Care, Contract Systems Administrator PerformCare determines the specialty bed level of care and referrals are made via the SRTU for admission into the program. NPS is licensed by The Office of Licensing and accredited by the Joint Commission.

The program model is designed to respond to the needs of significantly traumatized youth who have severe behavioral and emotional disturbances. Youth admitted into the program demonstrate an array of behaviors that include but are not limited to impulse control, anger outbursts, assaultive behaviors, self-harming acts, and oppositional behaviors. An array of specialized treatments are incorporated into the trauma-focused model including, Sexually Reactive Behavior and/or Fire-Setting Specific Treatment. Comprehensive family treatment is done when applicable, which may include psycho-educational, group, and clinical family sessions.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work

Preferred:

  • LCADC
  • At least one year previous experience working in a clinical environment
  • At least one year previous experience working with adolescents

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift working, flexible evening hours
  • Part-Time (PT)

Essential Functions:

  • Actively participates in maintaining the therapeutic milieu program
  • Maintains up-to-date and complete records of patient information according to established standards
  • Completes accurate and timely billing documents
  • Understands the payor identification process and ensures that services delivered are accurately authorized
  • As a member of the multidisciplinary team, assists in reviewing and updating the treatment plan
  • Involves families/referral sources in all treatment endeavors as necessary
  • Adheres to department’s practice guidelines 
  • Maintains current knowledge of professional practice standard
  • In collaboration with the treatment team, implements the continuing care plan
  • Collaborates with Community and Trinitas-based and community agencies to promote coordination and continuity of patient and family care
  • Performs the psycho-social assessment which includes family dynamics and treatment needs
  • Designs and implements treatment plans, including psychotherapy and evaluates and documents patient's outcomes according to policy and procedure
  • Recognizes the need for and implements a strength-based framework in treatment planning
  • Conducts individual, family, and group treatment according to established standards/practice guidelines
  • Collects and utilizes outcome data to support treatment planning/modifications
  • Reviews assessment data including identified medical needs, and makes appropriate and timely referral
