The Edmonton area is looking for an experienced Superintendent to work one of Alberta's largest career defining projects. Opportunity includes Defense Canada's new home for the F35 Fighter Jets (https://ffcpcoldlake.ellisdon.com/)

You as an M&E Superintendent will:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate on-site mechanical and electrical activities to comply with specifications, requirements and codes.

  • Coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference problems

  • Provide direction during functional performance testing of all mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Assist Project Managers and Project superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFI's and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements.

  • Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for contractors.

  • Report accurate quantities for labour cost reports and accurately monitor material ledgers to ensure quantities in estimate are sufficient to complete the project.

  • Find solutions to conflicts in structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications and follow-up with consultants and sub-trades to completion.

  • Ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a Electrical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering related degree/diploma and at least 10 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Note, candidates with backgrounds in Electrical Engineering or as an Electrician previously will be preferred for this role.

  • You have a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles and practices.

  • You have the ability to proactively identify and document any problems/conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them.

  • You have a working knowledge surveying techniques, surveying equipment standards and procedures.

  • You have the ability to conceptualize drawings and identify potential construction conflicts.

  • Communicate with superintendents and project managers

  • Able to perform in a fast paced environment.

  • Must have, or be eligible for, CSID (PWSGC) Secret Level Security Clearance.
