Shop Foreman

Job Summary
This position will work with the Service Manager to oversee the schedule of shop work, assign personnel to specific work orders and provide assistance to Shop Mechanics.
Essential Functions
  • Operates and inspects machines, equipment and components, and/or evaluates disabled machines to assess their condition and determine needed repairs
  • Assists in the opening and closing of work orders for control of each shop job
  • Prioritizes work to ensure shop efficiency and productivity
  • Communicates equipment repair status to customers
  • Maintains and monitors detailed records of time and performance of Service employees
  • Orders and maintains needed shop supplies
  • Assists in interviewing and selecting qualified personnel
  • Acts as site safety supervisor
  • Monitors training needs and provides for the delivery of such training as required

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of industry experience with diesel and gas engines and electrical and hydraulic systems preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and PC proficiency required, particularly in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
  • High School Diploma preferred

Typical Physical Activity and Environmental Conditions
A major portion of every day will be spent outdoors walking, stooping and bending, climbing on and off machines. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Proper PPE is required for all training.
