JOB SUMMARY: Leads a designated store responsible for driving profitable sales by implementing and managing business growth strategies in the following key areas; talent management, customer service excellence, store merchandising and cleanliness, financial analysis and optimization, internal/external compliance measures and risk mitigation, and vendor, community, and public relations. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensure continued growth of store-level teams through effective workforce planning.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate team members to achieve optimal performance.
  • Builds strong, sales focused teams through recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching to develop top performing team members.
  • Maximize profitability through sales enhancement, expense control, accurate reporting & documentation of all accounting & team member activities.
  • Maintain a continuous presence in the store across all days and shifts to observe, coach, and set expectations in accordance with our core values and core competencies.
  • Minimizes inventory & cash losses through proactive & innovative management.
  • Act as liaison between assigned store & upper management including communicating & enforcing company policies & procedures.
  • Respond to changing market conditions and competitor actions to achieve financial targets as well as other business metrics. Implements merchandising programs & helps to develop market area strategy through attention & response to competitor fuel/non-fuel activity.
  • Lead implementation and change management of new initiatives to ensure stability; gain alignment from store team.
  • Ensures that store is in compliance with all appropriate, local, state & federal regulations regarding hours of work, wages, age restrictions, & fair employment laws.
  • Analyzes financial Reports, financial statements, margins, and expenditures to achieve profit objectives.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Required to work 50 hours per week. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to read, review, and interpret financial statements and other reports and documents to affect change. Demonstrated skills in leadership and customer service. Demonstrated ability to develop and promote team members. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to exercise sound judgment and work with minimum supervision. 


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Effectively present information to customers, associate & management. Ability to read, analyze & interpret financial reports & legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from associates, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must be able to speak, read & write in the English language.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems & deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGULATIONS: Valid in-state Driver’s License with required auto insurance, acceptable motor vehicle report, and achieve and maintain the ServSafe Certification.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance on a ladder and/or stool, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
