Performance Optimization Manager information

How does a performance optimization manager typically collaborate with other departments to drive improvements?

Performance Optimization Managers often work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, product development, and IT. They gather data from various sources, analyze performance metrics, and facilitate workshops or meetings to identify bottlenecks and propose actionable solutions. Effective collaboration requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations that align with organizational goals. This collaborative approach ensures that optimization strategies are practical, well-supported, and have a measurable impact across the business.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a performance optimization manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Performance Optimization Manager, you need strong analytical skills, a background in business or data analysis, and experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), performance management systems, and relevant certifications in project management or process optimization are typically required. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities help drive change and encourage collaboration across teams. These skills are crucial for identifying inefficiencies, implementing effective solutions, and ensuring sustained business growth.

What does a performance optimization manager do?

A Performance Optimization Manager is responsible for analyzing business processes and systems to identify areas where efficiency, productivity, and overall performance can be improved. They develop and implement strategies, use data-driven insights, and collaborate with various departments to streamline operations. Their goal is to maximize the organization's effectiveness, reduce costs, and enhance results, often through process redesign, technology integration, and ongoing performance monitoring.

Scibids operates with the best interest of the advertiser and is agnostically available on every major buying platform.
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic Product Manager to lead Scibids' efforts to make Authentic Advantage, our new strategic product, a success on all major social media platforms.
Authentic Advantage is an ambitious offering that combines our industry-leading brand suitability (Prebid) and performance optimization technologies (Scibids) into a single, cohesive solution designed to achieve superior outcomes in digital ad buying.
As a Product Manager in our New York office, you will define release roadmaps for each platform, setting clear conditions for success. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, and Operations to define the go-to-market strategy, to build features that drive product adoption and reduce operational load, and to strategically position the bundled value proposition of brand suitability and performance.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the ad tech ecosystem, particularly the intricacies of social media advertising, brand safety, and performance marketing.
Job Responsibilities
  • Product Vision: Own the roadmap for Scibids bundling into Authentic Advantage and feature enhancements, aligning product strategy with business goals.
  • Product Development: Manage development from concept ideation to product release, including requirement gathering and breaking down the vision to epics and stories.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Understand the competitive marketplace to influence strategy, identify gaps where the Authentic Advantage team can innovate and drive the changes needed to implement them by pivoting quickly when needed.
  • Partnership Liaison: Act as a product liaison for Business Development on Authentic Advantage to adjust trade-off between quality and performance depending on clients.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate across the entire DV organization by working with DV's broader Social product teams on joint ventures product marketing to structure go-to-market releases and create compelling narratives around new Authentic Advantage integrations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Work experience: A minimum of 3 years of product management experience, with ideally 1-2 years into adtech.
  • Curious & Fast Learner: Able to ramp up quickly across varied topics and technologies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to understand complex technical architectures and API integrations.
  • Humble & Data-Driven Decision Making: Focused on outcomes over ego, flexible in the face of change. Experience with data-driven decision making and defining success metrics.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across organizations.
  • Communication & Team Player:
    • Skilled at presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
    • Any French language skill would be helpful, but not essential

#Hybrid
The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV.
The estimated salary range for this role based on the qualifications set forth in the job description is between [$155,000 - $178,000]. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, and benefits.
The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description; however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be more or less experienced than this job description as posted.
Not-so-fun fact: Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of job criteria, women and other marginalized groups tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes but you're not sure that you check every box, apply anyway!
