How does a Performance Optimization Manager typically collaborate with other departments to drive improvements?

Performance Optimization Managers often work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, product development, and IT. They gather data from various sources, analyze performance metrics, and facilitate workshops or meetings to identify bottlenecks and propose actionable solutions. Effective collaboration requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations that align with organizational goals. This collaborative approach ensures that optimization strategies are practical, well-supported, and have a measurable impact across the business.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Performance Optimization Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Performance Optimization Manager, you need strong analytical skills, a background in business or data analysis, and experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), performance management systems, and relevant certifications in project management or process optimization are typically required. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities help drive change and encourage collaboration across teams. These skills are crucial for identifying inefficiencies, implementing effective solutions, and ensuring sustained business growth.

Job description

About Ignite Visibility

Ignite Visibility is a highly acclaimed, fast-growing digital marketing agency. Named one of San Diego's Best Places to Work and recognized as a top national SEO firm, we pride ourselves on innovation, measurable results, and an incredible team culture.

We are looking for a strong SEO Manager, a mid-level hands-on account campaign role, to join our fully remote-first team. In this role, you will take ownership of high-profile client accounts, lead advanced organic search strategies, and drive flawless execution across a diverse portfolioโ€”including national, local, and multi-location franchise programs.

If you are a proactive, growth-minded digital marketing expert who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, we want to hear from you!

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

As an SEO Project Manager, you will take ownership of a dedicated client portfolio (with an initial target portfolio of a minimum of $75,000 MRR), driving organic growth and maintaining high retention.

Client Management & Communication

  • Act as the primary, high-touch point of contact for high-profile, local, national, and multi-location franchise clients.

  • Lead weekly client meetings and strategy sessions via Phone and Zoom, providing clear updates and data-driven recommendations.

  • Build deep, positive relationships with clients by translating complex technical SEO concepts into clear, ROI-focused business insights.

Strategy, Execution & Content

  • Develop and execute comprehensive organic search strategies tailored to solve complex national and franchise-specific challenges.

  • Oversee end-to-end technical SEO, on-site optimization, and advanced link-building frameworks.

  • Design robust content and editorial strategies, including keyword assignments, mapping, and content calendars.

  • Integrate social media insights (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube) to amplify organic search performance.

Project Management & Internal Leadership

  • Manage multiple client campaigns simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet all deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Deliver transparent monthly and quarterly performance reporting utilizing custom client dashboards.

  • Lead internal meetings and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure campaign deliverables are flawlessly executed.

  • Act as a leader within the department by assisting, mentoring, and guiding junior project managers, while contributing directly to overall company strategy.

Required Qualifications
  • Agency Experience is a Must: 4โ€“5 years of dedicated experience building effective digital marketing campaigns that grow traffic and conversions within an agency setting.

  • SEO Expertise: Deep experience in technical SEO, comprehensive keyword assignments, on-site optimization, and creative linking strategy.

  • Platform Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of WordPress, blogging ecosystems, and major social media networks.

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience managing multi-location, or franchise SEO programs.

Core Competencies
  • Advanced Client Management: Expert interpersonal skills with absolute comfort leading high-level phone and Zoom presentations.

  • Growth Mindset: Commitment to continuous improvement through adaptability, optimism, curiosity, and openness to feedback.

  • Proactive Initiative: A self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude, exceptional organizational skills, and strict attention to detail.

  • Thrives Under Pressure: Ability to function exceptionally well, prioritize tasks, and maintain strong execution in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment.
