About Us:

Founded in 2018, Indie Consulting is a fast-growing, strategy-led marketing consultancy that partners with some of the most exciting brands in CPG and beyond! We foster an empowering environment built on creativity and dedication, helping our clients tell their stories with clarity and impact.

At Indie, we’ve created a collaborative culture where professional and personal growth is the norm. If you’re energized by smart strategy, great people, and real opportunities for growth, we’d love to meet you!

Role Overview:

The Senior Digital Marketing Manager is a strategic leader and client-facing driver who owns larger initiatives, leads integrated workstreams, and elevates both client outcomes and internal team performance.

In this role, you’ll move beyond execution into strategic orchestration—developing frameworks, guiding cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior strategists. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, confidently leading conversations, shaping recommendations, and ensuring strategy translates into action across paid, owned, and earned channels.

This role is ideal for someone who can zoom out to architect the strategy while staying close enough to execution to ensure quality, momentum, and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Strategic Workstreams
  • Take ownership of larger projects or accounts, leading strategy from discovery through execution and optimization
  • Develop strategic frameworks that connect business objectives to marketing approach, channel mix, and measurement
  • Translate complex business challenges into clear, actionable strategic direction for clients and internal teams
  • Lead the creation of high-impact briefs that align creative, media, data, and activation partners

Own Client Leadership & Strategic Account Management

  • Serve as a senior, day-to-day strategic partner to client stakeholders
  • Lead client meetings, working sessions, and presentations with confidence and clarity
  • Anticipate client needs, proactively surface opportunities or risks, and guide decision-making in ambiguous moments
  • Ensure workstreams remain aligned to scope, priorities, and business impact

Cross-Functional Integration & Operational Excellence

  • Act as the connective tissue across strategy, creative, activation, and analytics teams
  • Ensure timelines, deliverables, and dependencies are clearly defined and actively managed
  • Optimize ways of working across teams to improve efficiency, clarity, and output quality

Data, Insights & Strategic Storytelling

  • Lead the synthesis of performance data, consumer insights, and competitive research into cohesive narratives
  • Define and evolve KPIs, measurement frameworks, and success metrics across initiatives
  • Craft compelling strategic stories that inspire confidence, align teams, and move clients to action

Mentorship & Team Leadership

  • Begin mentoring junior strategy team members, providing guidance on thinking, structure, and client communication
  • Delegate work thoughtfully, balancing clear direction with autonomy to support team growth
  • Model strong ownership, accountability, and professionalism across engagements

Operate with Ownership & Strategic Judgment

  • Identify risks early and lead the development of practical, creative solutions
  • Make informed decisions that balance client success, team capacity, and operational realities
  • Maintain a high bar for quality, clarity, and follow-through in all work

Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in marketing strategy, brand strategy, or digital consulting, ideally in an agency or client-facing environment
  • Proven experience leading integrated marketing strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels
  • Strong comfort leading client conversations, presentations, and strategic working sessions
  • Experience developing strategic frameworks, briefs, and measurement approaches that inform execution
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and multiple priorities with confidence
  • Strong project leadership skills with an eye toward both detail and big-picture impact
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Drive) and collaborative tools

Reporting Relationship: Strategy Director

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Location: This role is based in North Carolina, NC with a hybrid schedule of three in-office days (T-TH) and two remote days (M-F) each week.
