Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery Unit

This Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery unit opportunity is full time @ 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient night shift schedule. This dynamic individual will take care of pregnant patients during labor, obstetrical emergencies, and other obstetric conditions. The labor and delivery nurse provides care during the intrapartum period (labor and birth). A labor and delivery nurse provides support, medical care, and constant monitoring of the pregnant patient and her fetus throughout labor and birth. Labor and delivery nurses assist and educate patients with labor and delivery conditions. Labor and delivery nurses provide incredible patient support, critical nursing care, and comprehensive pregnancy and postpartum education.

Job Summary: Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment
  • Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill
  • Integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and co-morbidities
  • Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients
  • Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs
  • Collaborates with the patient's designated care partner to meet the educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the patient

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current Nevada nursing license.
  • Current BLS certificate.
  • NRP, STABLE within 6 mo. of hire
  • Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
  • ACLS (or obtained within six months of employment).
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
  • Fetal Monitoring within 6 months of hire
