Electrical Superintendent – Utility Scale Solar

Location: [Nationwide] Employment Type: [Contract to Hire] Pay Rate: $65.00/hour + Per Diem + Company Vehicle Travel: Required (nationwide project-based travel)

About the Opportunity

Performance Personnel Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead field operations on utility scale solar construction projects ranging from 3–15 MW. This role is responsible for overseeing all electrical scopes of work, managing field crews, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and driving projects to on-time, on-budget completion.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily electrical construction activities on utility scale solar sites, including DC/AC wiring, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, and medium-voltage collection systems
  • Manage field crews, subcontractors, and craft labor to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to project schedule
  • Enforce site safety programs and ensure full compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and specifications to direct crews accurately
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Civil Superintendents, and Engineering teams to ensure proper sequencing of electrical work
  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure work meets utility interconnection and commissioning requirements
  • Track daily progress, labor hours, and material usage; provide regular progress reports to project leadership
  • Identify and resolve field issues, delays, or conflicts that could impact schedule or budget
  • Lead pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
  • Manage subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines
  • Support material procurement and logistics coordination for electrical scopes
  • Travel to project sites nationwide as required, with extended stays for project duration

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of solar construction experience, with direct exposure to utility scale projects
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent running utility scale/commercial solar projects in the 3–15 MW range
  • Master Electrician License or Journeyman Wireman (JW) License preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, OSHA 30, and utility scale solar electrical systems (DC collection, AC collection, MV systems, SCADA/communications a plus)
  • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and crew management skills
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and craft labor crews simultaneously
  • Proficiency with project scheduling and documentation tools (Procore, MS Project, or similar a plus)
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites nationwide
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record (company vehicle provided)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and pass a background check/drug screening

Compensation & Benefits
