Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Primary Care and Women's Health, Eastside LA

Tia

Los Angeles, CA

$96/hr

Full-time, Part-time, Per diem

Posted 15 days ago

Job description

About Tia

Tia is building a new model for women's healthcare, one that treats women as whole people, not separate conditions or life stages. By integrating primary care, mental health, gynecology, dermatology, and wellness across both in-person and virtual settings, Tia is improving outcomes, lowering costs, and creating a better experience for patients and providers alike.

About the Role

We are hiring experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide flexible, per diem coverage across Tia's Eastside Los Angeles clinics, including Pasadena, Silver Lake, and Studio City.

This role is designed for clinicians who want supplemental clinical work without committing to a fixed part-time or full-time schedule. Per diem providers help support planned coverage gaps, high-volume periods, and unexpected staffing needs.

Providers are asked to share at least one day of general availability each week, including weekdays or weekends. When coverage is needed, Tia will contact available providers with the clinic location, shift time, and expected arrival time. Providers may accept or decline each individual shift request based on their availability.

Accepted shifts are typically eight hours and may fall between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Same-day coverage requests may require arrival at the assigned clinic within two hours of accepting the shift.

This role is ideal for an experienced clinician who can confidently manage a broad range of primary care and women's health visits, adapt quickly to different clinic teams, and deliver consistent, high-quality care with minimal ramp time.

Why Tia
  • Flexible per diem work without a fixed weekly schedule
  • $96 per hour
  • 40 hours of paid onboarding
  • Eight-hour shifts
  • Coverage limited to Tia's Eastside Los Angeles clinics
  • Mileage reimbursement for clinic assignments
  • Medical malpractice coverage
  • AI-supported documentation designed to reduce charting burden
  • Complimentary access to UpToDate
  • Internal education resources and monthly clinical training
  • The opportunity to support a new model of coordinated women's healthcare
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team focused on patient and provider experience

What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive primary care and women's health services, including new patient visits, annual preventive exams, health screenings, contraception consultations, STI evaluation and treatment, pregnancy confirmation, and cervical cancer screening follow-up
  • Evaluate and manage common acute and chronic primary care needs, including hypertension, diabetes, respiratory concerns, digestive symptoms, sleep concerns, anxiety, and depression
  • Assess and manage same-day women's health concerns, including vaginal, vulvar, urinary, pelvic, and reproductive health symptoms
  • Perform IUD insertions and basic dermatologic procedures within your training, licensure, credentialing, and Tia's clinical scope
  • Review results, develop care plans, communicate next steps, and coordinate appropriate follow-up
  • Quickly integrate into clinic workflows while following Tia's clinical protocols, documentation expectations, and patient experience standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, mental health clinicians, and clinic operations
  • Support virtual care, inbox coverage, or other clinical priorities during non-patient time on an accepted shift
  • Review per diem coverage requests and accept shifts that align with your availability
  • Report to the assigned clinic within the communicated timeframe after accepting a shift

What You'll Bring
  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current national board certification, such as ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA
  • Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license
  • Active DEA registration, where required for practice
  • At least three years of independent outpatient primary care experience
  • Strong experience providing primary care and routine women's health services
  • Experience managing common acute and chronic outpatient conditions
  • Experience providing routine gynecologic and reproductive healthcare, including contraception and STI care
  • Experience performing IUD insertions and basic dermatologic procedures
  • Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of visits without significant ramp time
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to triage, prioritize, and adapt quickly
  • Comfort using EHRs, virtual care tools, AI-supported documentation, and evolving clinical workflows
  • Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care
  • Ability to provide at least one day of general availability per week, including weekdays or weekends
  • Ability to report onsite within two hours after accepting a same-day shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing Nexplanon insertions or colposcopies
  • Experience providing trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ inclusive, and gender-affirming care
  • Experience with behavioral health integration
  • Experience in weight management, menopause care, or advanced dermatology
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary, high-growth, or non-traditional care models

Availability and Scheduling

Providers are asked to share at least one day of general availability per week.

Sharing availability does not require you to accept every shift offered. Providers may accept or decline each coverage request based on their availability.

Once a shift is accepted, providers are expected to fulfill the commitment and arrive within the communicated timeframe.

Shifts are typically eight hours and may fall between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Coverage requests may be for planned needs or same-day callouts.

Work Location

This role supports Tia's Eastside Los Angeles clinics, including:

  • Pasadena
  • Silver Lake
  • Studio City

This is an onsite role. Mileage reimbursement is provided for clinic assignments in accordance with Tia's reimbursement policy.

Paid Onboarding

To ensure per diem providers are fully prepared to support Tia's clinics, this role includes a required, fully paid 40-hour onboarding program, ideally completed within the first one to two weeks of employment.

Onboarding includes:

  • One full day dedicated to virtual IT setup, credentialing, and software access
  • Training modules covering Tia's clinical protocols, safety standards, technology, and operational workflows
  • Four full days of shadowing with a dedicated mentor
  • Shadowing may take place in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format, depending on role and location

All required onboarding and training time is paid at the role's standard hourly rate.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation for this role is $96 per hour.

Tia is committed to pay equity and pay transparency. Compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, location, role level, business needs, and market conditions.

You are also eligible for:

  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Medical malpractice coverage
  • Reimbursement for state license, board certification, and BLS certification
  • DEA reimbursement where required for practice
  • Complimentary UpToDate subscription
  • Internal educational resources and monthly clinical training
  • AI-supported documentation software designed to reduce clinical documentation burden
