JOB DESCRIPTION

KTTV Fox 11seeks Per Diem News Photographer

To shoot and edit compelling, creative, and fast-paced visual stories for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. Candidates generally need at least 3 years of experience, expertise in non-linear editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Edius), and proficiency with LiveU/backpack technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visual Storytelling:Capture high-quality video, lighting, and audio in the field, newsroom, and studio, aiming for creative visuals that enhance storytelling.

  • Editing & Deadlines:Edit daily news packages, voiceovers, and special projects under tight deadlines.

  • Live Operations:Operate digital microvans, ENG trucks, bonded cellular units (LiveU, Dejero), and satellite equipment for live shots.

  • Collaboration & Independence:Work closely with reporters in the field or operate as a solo photojournalist, creating, shooting, and editing content alone.

  • Digital & Streaming Content:Contribute todigital-first content for online platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience:A minimum of 3 years' experience as a general assignment news photographer in a top-market station is often preferred.

  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in non-linear editing systems (e.g., Grass Valley Edius, Adobe Premiere).

  • Physical Ability:Ability to carry, transport, and operate up to 55 lbs of camera equipment.

  • Flexibility:Availability to work irregular hours, includingearly mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Driving:A clean driving record is required.
