Description:

Culligan is looking for a Global Customs Compliance Director. This individual is responsible for leading and maintaining a comprehensive global trade compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable U.S. and international import and export regulations. This role serves as the subject matter expert for customs and trade compliance, mitigating risk while enabling efficient, compliant global trade operations in support of Culligan's business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. import and export regulations, including CBP, EAR, OFAC, and related regulatory bodies
  • Maintain awareness of evolving trade regulations and assess impact to the business
  • Develop, implement, and enforce global trade compliance policies and procedures
  • Manage customs compliance programs, including internal audits, CBP audits, ACE reporting, and corrective action plans
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customs authorities, brokers, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead implementation and ongoing maintenance of CTPAT programs across multiple U.S. states
  • Oversee HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin determinations, and duty management processes
  • Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Legal teams to manage duty exposure and compliance risks
  • Leverage global trade programs to support cost savings and compliance, including Duty Drawback, Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ), and bonded facilities
  • Identify opportunities to utilize preferential tariff programs and free trade agreements worldwide
  • Provide guidance on how global trade programs can be strategically leveraged for Culligan
  • Implement and govern global processes for certificates of origin and "made in" / "assembled in" country labeling systems
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of trade documentation across all regions
  • Provide hands-on expertise in Mexico trade compliance, including pedimentos, customs regimes, and tariff treatment
  • Ensure compliance with Mexico-specific customs requirements and regional trade agreements
  • Collaborate with regional teams and customs brokers to maintain compliant cross-border flows
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on trade compliance requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement through risk assessments, audits, and corrective actions
  • Establish KPIs and reporting to monitor compliance performance

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) preferred in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Law, or related field
  • 7-10+ years of experience in import/export compliance or global trade compliance
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. import and export regulations (CBP, EAR, OFAC)
  • Proven experience implementing and managing CTPAT programs across multiple locations
  • Strong expertise in HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and duty management
  • Experience with Duty Drawback, FTZ, bonded warehouses, and global trade programs
  • Hands-on knowledge of Mexico customs processes, including pedimentos and customs regimes
  • Experience managing customs audits, ACE reporting, and corrective action plans
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Target Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 per year plus bonus. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
