Per Diem Construction Superintendent Jobs in Decatur, AL

Craftsmen Contractors is seeking an experienced Subcontractor Superintendent for the Canton, Mississippi area to lead and oversee subcontractor activities for commercial construction projects. This pivotal role involves managing subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and coordinating project schedules effectively. The ideal candidate will possess trade knowledge of mechanical scope, extensive construction management expertise, strong leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of construction regulations and safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects through strategic supervision, meticulous planning, and proactive management. You must have the ability to identify and offer solutions to project challenges that arise. The work schedule is Monday through Friday.

Salary: $150,000 - $160,000/annual

Per diem is available for those who qualify (negotiable) 

Weekly pay by direct deposit.

This is a temp-to-perm hire position, which is aimed at long-term retention for the right candidate.

Duties

• Lead and supervise subcontractor teams on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Coordinate construction schedules using Primavera P6 and other project management software to align subcontractor activities with overall project timelines.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to facilitate accurate execution of work.
• Monitor construction site safety compliance in accordance with OSHA standards and federal safety regulations; enforce safety protocols diligently.
• Manage subcontractor contracts, change orders, and scope of work modifications with clarity and precision.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control, adherence to specifications, and proper implementation of construction drawings.
• Oversee project documentation using tools like ProCore and Bluebeam for efficient communication and record-keeping.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and management teams to resolve on-site issues promptly.
• Supervise crew management activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure construction schedule coordination by managing critical path activities and addressing potential delays proactively.
• Maintain compliance with all construction regulations while fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a commercial construction management role.
• Extensive knowledge of construction management software such as Primavera P6, ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other relevant tools.
• Strong understanding of contracts, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control principles.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications accurately.
• Supervisory experience managing diverse teams in fast-paced construction environments.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and federal safety regulations related to heavy civil or commercial projects.
• Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively.
• Construction site experience with a focus on quality assurance, safety management, and schedule adherence.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction estimating processes and managing project budgets effectively.
