Job description

Job Type
Full-time
Description
Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a PeopleSoft Developer to support our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong, hands-on development experience across the PeopleSoft HCM technology stack, including PeopleTools, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher/XML Publisher, Integration Broker, Process Scheduler, and SQL.
This role supports Federal Government HR modernization programs, primarily within on-premise PeopleSoft environments, with future considerations for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as the platform evolves. The successful candidate will be a self-sufficient developer capable of designing, building, troubleshooting, and documenting complex technical solutions, while collaborating effectively with functional teams, testers, leads, and fellow developers in a SAFe/Scaled Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and support customizations, interfaces, reports, conversions, and extensions for PeopleSoft HCM using PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, SQR, BI Publisher/XML Publisher, and SQL.
  • Support PeopleSoft HCM modules such as Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Time and Labor, Absence Management, Position Management, and Employee/Manager Self-Service, including enhancements, fixes, and production support.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and resolve defects, data issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures across online, batch, reporting, and interface processes.
  • Coordinate closely with business analysts, functional SMEs, testers, DBAs, architects, release managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions and support testing and deployment activities.
  • Support PUM image adoption, de-customization efforts, PeopleTools upgrades, patching, retrofits, and environment synchronization activities across development, test, and production environments.
  • Participate in SAFe/Scaled Agile ceremonies and use Azure DevOps (ADO) to track user stories, tasks, defects, sprint progress, dependencies, and delivery metrics.
  • Develop and maintain technical design documentation, configuration documentation, migration instructions, and release support artifacts for development and maintenance activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on PeopleSoft development experience, including at least 3 years supporting PeopleSoft HCM in a Federal Government or similarly complex enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the PeopleSoft technology stack, including PeopleTools, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, SQR, Process Scheduler, BI Publisher/XML Publisher, and SQL.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting on-prem PeopleSoft environments; understanding of OCI architecture and cloud migration considerations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with developers, team leads, testers, analysts, and business stakeholders in a SAFe/Scaled Agile delivery environment.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HCM modules, including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Labor, Absence Management, Position Management, and related self-service functionality.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, preferably Oracle 19c, including SQL optimization, query tuning, and data troubleshooting; knowledge of Oracle APEX for supporting utilities or lightweight applications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Integration Broker, web services, file-based interfaces, batch processing, and related middleware/integration patterns.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF), structured system/integration testing, and coordination with QA and UAT teams.
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog tracking, user stories, sprint boards, defects, roadmaps, and reporting/metrics; this is valued from a delivery-tracking perspective rather than DevSecOps.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), de-customization, retrofits, migration/change control, and support for PeopleTools and HCM upgrades.
  • Experience with operational/support tools such as PHIRE, Stonebranch, or similar enterprise scheduling, migration, or control tools is a plus.
  • Experience supporting PeopleSoft implementations within the Army, DoD, or other Federal civilian/defense environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft security, row-level security, roles/permission lists, and support for secure production operations.
  • Oracle PeopleSoft technical, PeopleTools, or HCM-related certifications are a plus.

Additional Information:
  • Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Work Environment: Onsite/Hybrid/Remote as required by the contract.
  • This is a full-time, W2 position.
  • No agencies, third parties, or Corp-to-Corp submissions.
  • Spatial Front Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer - all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status.
  • SFI participates in E-Verify.
