VP of People

Curri

Ventura, CA • On-site

$240K - $275K/yr

Full-time

Job description

About the role:
Curri is seeking a VP of People to take on an exciting opportunity to design and build a People function that scales Curri into our next growth phase: from the ~250 employees we have today, to the many more we continue to hire at a rapid pace. The VP of People will need to continually shape how the company organizes, develops leaders, and executes talent strategy at its increasing scale over time. You will own Curri's entire people function: talent acquisition, HR business partnership, and people operations as one integrated department, reporting directly to Curri's CLO. This is a builder role, managing and adding to a team of recruiters, HR business partners, and people ops, and standing up the programs and infrastructure a company at this scale needs to run on. The role is based on-site in Ventura, CA.
What you will do:
  • Build and manage the People department, including Talent Acquisition, HR business partners, and people ops, setting the structure and cadence the team runs on as headcount grows.
  • Own and build Curri's Talent Strategy: Translate headcount plans and growth targets into a proactive hiring roadmap, keeping talent acquisition capacity ahead of the business's needs.
  • Serve as the go-to advisor to the executive team on org structure, headcount planning, and the highest-stakes people decisions in the company.
  • Stand up the HR business partnership model that gives every functional leader a trusted partner for org design, performance, and team development.
  • Support the people ops team in scaling our core people programs, including onboarding, performance management, benefits, and career frameworks.
  • Design and launch new programs, such as compensation frameworks and leadership development, that don't yet exist at Curri in a documented, repeatable form.

What you need to have:
  • 12+ years in People, HR, or Talent, with at least 5 years of experience managing a team and owning and scaling a department rather than a single program.
  • Strong track record in program development and talent acquisition specifically, having built out talent strategy from scratch rather than inheriting and running ones already in place.
  • Skilled at connecting workforce planning, talent analytics, leadership development, and organizational strategy to Curri's broader business goals, not treating them as standalone initiatives.
  • Background with meaningful experience spanning all of HR business partnership, people operations and talent, giving you range across the full People function.

Bonus points for:
  • Experience scaling a People function through a similar headcount inflection at a high-growth company.
  • Direct experience building an HRBP and/or Talent function.
