The Business Development Coordinator supports Producers in building and advancing a strong pipeline of new business opportunities. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who is comfortable initiating outreach, engaging prospects, securing meetings, and representing the organization in a client-facing capacity. The Coordinator will use a combination of targeted research, digital prospecting, networking, and consistent follow-up to help identify qualified prospects and move opportunities through the business development process.
The successful candidate will be confident communicating with business leaders, resourceful in identifying new opportunities, and capable of managing activity with limited day-to-day direction. This individual will work closely with Producers to prepare for prospect meetings, develop relevant outreach strategies, and help create meaningful engagement with prospective clients across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of prospecting strategies tailored to specific industries, companies, and business issues.
  • Manage ongoing follow-up with prospects to keep opportunities moving through the pipeline and ensure timely communication.
  • Prepare Producers for prospect meetings by gathering background information, organizing relevant materials, and coordinating input from internal teams.
  • Participate in networking events, trade associations, business groups, and other external opportunities to increase visibility and support prospect engagement.
  • Maintain accurate activity, contact, and pipeline information in Salesforce, Salesloft, and other business development tools.
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop outreach materials, event communications, and prospect-facing content aligned with brand standards.
  • Assist with presentations, proposals, and RFP coordination in support of new business opportunities.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in employee benefits brokerage, insurance, business development, sales support, or a related professional services environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated comfort with outbound outreach, prospect communication, meeting coordination, and relationship-building activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with internal teams and external prospects.
  • Experience using CRM or sales engagement platforms such as Salesforce or Salesloft preferred.
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, and able to prioritize work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Based in Atlanta with a hybrid work schedule of three days in office and two days remote.
