About the Role
The Department of Pediatrics at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center invites applications for an open-rank faculty position focused on pediatric population science, health outcomes, and disparities research. This opportunity is ideal for an innovative and collaborative investigator passionate about advancing equitable outcomes for children, adolescents, and young adult cancer patients and survivors. Areas of research interest are broad, though particular interest will be given to candidates with expertise in pediatric hematology/oncology health disparities, health equity, survivorship, psychosocial risk and resilience, or community-engaged research.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative and mission-driven environment dedicated to improving cancer outcomes through impactful research, meaningful community partnerships, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to nationally recognized programs while helping shape the future of pediatric cancer survivorship and health equity research.
What You'll Do
• Develop and maintain an innovative, independent, and extramurally funded research program
• Conduct impactful research focused on pediatric population science, cancer outcomes, survivorship, or health disparities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators across Pediatrics, Cancer Prevention & Control, Epidemiology, Community Outreach & Engagement, and related programs
• Contribute to participant-centered and community-engaged research initiatives with real-world impact
• Mentor trainees, students, fellows, and emerging investigators in a supportive academic environment
• Engage with national cooperative groups and collaborative research networks, including the Children's Oncology Group
• Leverage institutional shared resources and precision oncology data platforms to advance scholarly discovery
• Foster a culture of collaboration, compassion, inclusion, and scientific excellence in alignment with High Reliability Organization principles
About the Department
The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art care for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders and is a member of the National Cancer Institute-supported Children's Oncology Group. The Department maintains a strong focus on survivorship, health equity, psychosocial support, and community-centered care for pediatric and adolescent cancer populations.
Roswell Park's vibrant research ecosystem includes nationally recognized programs in cancer prevention and control, cancer epidemiology, cancer care delivery, cancer disparities, and tobacco prevention and control research. Strong partnerships with Western New York communities, an active pediatric caregiver advisory board, and a deeply collaborative institutional culture create an exceptional environment for impactful and translational research.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
Doctoral degree in an appropriate scientific or clinical-based discipline and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in an applicable scientific or clinical research environment.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
