Pediatric Surgery Registered Nurse

Location: Austin, TX

Facility: Dell Children's Medical Center

Department/Specialty: Pediatric Surgery

Schedule: Night shift | Full-time Monday - Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Deliver Operating Room Registered Nurse care by providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Coordinate patient care and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support efficient surgical workflows, clear communication, and high-quality clinical outcomes.
  • Perform circulating nurse responsibilities by monitoring patient status, documenting care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
  • Provide scrub nurse support by maintaining sterile technique, preparing instruments, and assisting surgeons to promote procedural efficiency and patient safety.

What minimum requirements you'll need

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
    • One or more of the following required:
      • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
      • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Education:
      • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

    What additional preferences we're seeking

    • 1 year previous RN Surgical Services experience preferred
    • 1 year previous RN Pediatric experience preferred
