Job description

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is looking for hands-on, automotive professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech environment! PDW is now hiring Full-Time Experienced Diesel Mechanics to work with a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, modifying cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. This role will work independently on a variety of projects in accordance with customer instructions and expectations. The Experienced Diesel Mechanic will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members. This Full-time Experienced Diesel Mechanic position offers an AM day shift plus overtime as needed and is based in Warren, MI. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Experienced Diesel Mechanic position below are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up
Shift:
  • AM Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday, plus overtime when needed)
Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Has own tools with rolling toolbox
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
  • Certificate in Diesel Technology or related
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
  • State Diesel Mechanic Certification(s)
