Job description

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is looking for hands-on, automotive professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech environment! PDW is now hiring Full-Time Senior Diesel Mechanics to work with a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, modifying cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Senior Diesel Mechanic will mentor and oversee team members’ technical deliverables to ensure customer standards are met. This Full-time Senior Diesel Mechanic position offers an AM day shift plus overtime as needed and is based in Warren, MI. Responsibilities:
  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Lead daily shop organization and clean-up
Shift:
  • AM Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday, plus overtime when needed)
Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others
  • Has own tools with rolling toolbox
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
  • Certificate in Diesel Technology or related
  • State Diesel Mechanic Certification(s)
