A PCA, or Patient Care Assistant, at a hospital is a healthcare worker who provides basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. Their duties often include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating, as well as taking vital signs and helping with mobility. PCAs play a crucial role in supporting both patients and nurses, ensuring comfort and safety in a hospital setting. They typically work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care.

Is being a patient care assistant at hospital a stressful job?

Being a patient care assistant (PCA) at a hospital can be stressful due to the physically demanding nature of the job, emotional challenges of patient care, and high-pressure situations. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
