Job description

The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of: 

High School Integrated Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate.
    • Experience preferred, but not required.
    • Additional Content Certifications (Preferred or Willing to Obtain)

The successful candidate will:

  • utilize data to determine learning needs of students and drive instruction.
  • work collaboratively with other staff members of the department and building.
  • be a proactive communicator with parents and colleagues.
  • promote academic language to enhance student learning.
  • develop and maintain positive relationships with students.
  • clearly communicate how students will be engaged in their classroom. .
  • proactively plan for student engagement in instruction.
  • use formative assessment to modify teaching.
  • display and employ enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning.
  • value individual students and differentiate for their success.
  • have knowledge of the current shifts in education standards and practices.
  • successfully collaborate with team and departmental colleagues.
  • demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.
  • effectively integrate technology to enhance learning.
  • plan for and facilitate student critical thinking
  • understand and support Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS)

Length of contract:  179 days
