Job description

Payroll Administrator

I'm conducting a confidential search for a Payroll Administrator with a growing, financially stable employer in the Richmond area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys partnering with HR and Finance while owning the payroll function. This position will be mainly onsite but offers some flexibility.

Position Highlights
✔ Process bi-weekly payroll for employees across 35 states
✔ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
✔ Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, direct deposits, PTO, bonuses, commissions, and employee data changes
✔ Coordinate benefits administration including medical, HSA, 401(k), and employee deductions
✔ Support new hire onboarding, I-9 compliance, employee orientations, and payroll training
✔ Prepare payroll reports, journal entries, and assist with payroll audits
✔ Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee records and timely payroll processing

Qualifications
✔ 3+ years of multi-state payroll experience
✔ Experience processing payroll in a multistate environment
✔ Paychex Flex experience strongly preferred
✔ Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, garnishments, and benefits administration
✔ Strong Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail
✔ CPP certification is a plus but not required
