Job Description:
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing payroll systems and projects, Workday changes, and updates. Back up responsibility for overseeing payroll processing of high volume weekly payrolls. This includes: validating/reviewing payroll timesheet, audit reports and payroll preview reports for our multistate operations, both field and corporate exempt and non-exempt staff.
Job Requirements:
Payroll Manager Job Duties:
  • Manages team through new processes and keeps payroll leadership up to date
  • Ensures payroll is ready for final review by deadline
  • Able to problem solve payroll issues and make recommendation for a solve
  • Manage payroll changes and updates to Workday
  • Document Workday payroll processes
  • Back-up for the preparation and input of all payroll related information to produce accurate and timely payroll
  • Back-up for submitting payroll once reviewed/completed
  • Manage and oversee cross functional projects
  • Review all payroll audits and payroll preview reports for accuracy
  • Maintain Sox compliance and act as liaison between payroll and internal and external audit
  • Manage year end reconciliation and W2 processing
  • Assist in training and mentoring
  • Recommends process improvements
  • Act as point of contact for reporting and system inquires
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Performs other tasks, duties and responsibilities as may be needed or directed

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Hands-on and strong knowledge/experience with Workday HCM/Payroll and Time and Attendance systems
  • Minimum of 6 years processing high volume, multi-state payroll for a mid to large company
  • Knowledge of current payroll-related laws and regulations, FPC or CPP certification preferred
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word)
  • Managing one's own time and coordinating time with others
  • Possess a sense of urgency for payroll related request and expectations
  • Position may require travel
