Payroll Coordinator
Conshohocken, PA | Full Time, Salary | $50,000 - $60,000
We believe that great people build great communities.
We are looking for a Payroll Coordinator to help keep one of the most important parts of our organization running accurately and on time-paying our people. This role combines hands-on payroll processing with HRIS administration, employee record management, auditing, and support for managers across the YMCA.
You'll be an important part of the payroll team, managing the details that keep each payroll cycle moving while developing the knowledge and experience to independently process payroll when needed. If you enjoy digging into the details, solving problems, working across HR and Finance, and making complex processes run smoothly, we'd love to meet you.
Some rewards for joining our team:
  • Free YMCA membership - access to all branches!
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Sweet discounts on child care and summer camp programs
  • Planning for your future? Ask us how we do it at the Y - it's awesome!

What is needed for this job as our Payroll Coordinator:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Two or more years of experience in payroll, accounting, human resources, or related administrative operations
  • Experience processing payroll and maintaining employee records within an HRIS
  • Experience with Dayforce, ADP, or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve payroll or data discrepancies
  • Ability to handle confidential payroll and employee information appropriately

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Payroll Coordinator:
  • Coordinate and process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Review payroll and timekeeping data to identify and resolve missing punches, overtime, pay exceptions, and other discrepancies
  • Process new hires, rehires, position and pay changes, employee separations, and other employee lifecycle transactions
  • Maintain accurate employee information, including direct deposit, tax withholding, employment status, and other payroll-related records
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure required onboarding documentation is complete and employee information is ready for payroll
  • Audit payroll, timekeeping, and employee records to maintain data accuracy and compliance
  • Process final pay, payroll adjustments, accrued entitlement payouts, and related separation transactions
  • Provide payroll, timekeeping, and HRIS guidance and support to managers throughout the organization
  • Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and operational leadership to resolve issues and improve payroll and HRIS processes
  • Support payroll reporting, record retention, compliance documentation, and the continued improvement of payroll procedures

What you can expect:
  • A role that combines hands-on payroll processing with broader HRIS and employee administration responsibilities
  • The opportunity to develop the knowledge and experience to independently manage the payroll process when needed
  • Regular collaboration with Human Resources, Finance, managers, and operational leaders across the organization
  • Meaningful work supporting the employees who deliver the YMCA's mission every day
