Job description

THOR Solutions, LLC is actively seeking a highly motivated Payroll and Human Resources Administrator to support corporate operations in Virginia Beach, VA. The ideal candidate will be dependable, have exceptional attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and experience working in Payroll. Typical Responsibilities:
* Conduct all payroll processes for a semi-monthly pay cycle for >200 multi-state employees, including processing, recording, and reporting functions. Ensure accurate and timely payments to all personnel.
* Respond to payroll-related inquiries, and provide explanations for payroll fluctuations.
* Reconciling tax filings to registers and managing year-end processing such as finalizing W2s and new state unemployment tax rates.
* Process garnishment calculations, liens, and income withholding orders as requested.
* Respond to external wage verification requests.
* Perform personnel and pay-related data entry across multiple systems including ADP Workforce Now and Unanet.
* Ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies across all resulting payrolls.
* Generate and post payroll reports such as FSA contributions, 401(k) deferrals, etc.
* Collaborate with state and federal agencies, as well as ADP, to resolve tax issues and establish new tax accounts.
* Generate administrative letters and other documentation.
* Generate and submit state and federal reports such as quarterly worker's compensation submissions or federal compliance reports.
* Perform frequent internal audits to ensure data accuracy.
* Support Unanet timekeeping system administration and employee setup.
* Assist with benefit open enrollment and new hire enrollment elections and reporting.
* Works with vendors to troubleshoot interface connection issues/data issues.
* Provide support to the Human Resources department by facilitating new hire orientations, preparing and distributing monthly and ad hoc personnel reports, sending reminders for employee surveys and assessments, and monitoring employees' training statuses.
* Collaborate with HR and Accounting to prepare and review monthly invoices and reports.
Location: Primarily onsite at THOR office in Virginia Beach, VA. Some local remote/hybrid flexibility as schedule permits. Typical Pay Range: The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $21.65 - $31.73/hour. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience. Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion, vision, and speech. Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * High School diploma or GED equivalent.
* An undergraduate degree in an accounting or human resources discipline and/or relevant professional certifications are highly preferred.
* At least three (3) years of recent, relevant experience with a primary duty of supporting and processing payroll functions.
* Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to payroll, taxes, and statutory deductions.
* Understanding of accounting principles and payroll best practices.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
* Strong proficiency with common productivity software including the Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel. * Familiarity with the payroll module of ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
* Must be dependable and able to work independently.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work. * Demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain confidential employee and organizational information.
