Job description

Overview
Technical Associates is a multi-disciplined, full-service engineering, construction, installation, fabrication, and staffing organization. We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with strong technical expertise in multi-state payroll, tax compliance, and timekeeping administration for 200+ employees. This role is based in our Albany, GA office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end payroll processing for multiple states, including direct deposits and checks
  • Manage time clock imports, timesheets, garnishments, and deductions
  • Reconcile payroll, insurance, and 401(k) contributions
  • Prepare W-2s, year-end filings, and certified payroll reports
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Maintain employee payroll records: new hires, terminations, changes and updates in payroll and benefits systems
  • Process Union dues
  • Maintain vacation accruals and prepare month-end journal entries

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or Payroll Specialist
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and payroll/accounting software
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processes, tax compliance, garnishments, benefits deductions
