Job description

The Audit and Assurance Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Payroll Compliance Associate who is motivated to learn, excited to collaborate and passionate about delivering outstanding results. This individual will have a direct impact on our firm's mission of serving as a catalyst for those striving to achieve their highest potential.
In this role, you will support the organization's Payroll Compliance Audit function with a strong focus on compliance with union agreements with respect to the contractual contributions made by employers. The successful individual will be analytical, detail-oriented, adaptable, and a strong communicator. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and interacting with clients. Prior payroll compliance audit experience is not required; training will be provided for individuals with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
What You'll Do:
  • Familiar with collective bargaining agreements and, if applicable, other related agreements
  • Knowledge of payroll and tax documents
  • Communicate findings and information requests clearly and professionally with employers and fund representatives.
  • Analyze payroll, accounting, and employment records using Microsoft Excel and other software tools.
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and exceptions through data analysis and professional judgment.
  • Follow up with employers to resolve and/or obtain representations regarding any potential discrepancies
  • Prepare preliminary and final reports noting the findings of the payroll examination.
  • Manage multiple examinations simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.

Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Advanced computer proficiency with MS Office Suite.
