Job description

Payroll Specialist (Part-Time) LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a part-time payroll specialist. This role is responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll operations within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, maintains compliance with applicable regulations, and works cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and support employee payroll needs. This position will be approximately 18 hours per week and 100% onsite in Northern Kentucky. Pay will range between $23 and $32/hr. depending on experience. Job Duties
  • Process weekly and biweekly payroll for a multi-state employee population, ensuring accuracy and on-time completion
  • Audit and validate time and attendance data, addressing discrepancies prior to payroll processing
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including onboarding, offboarding, and compensation updates
  • Calculate earnings, overtime, incentives, and various deductions in accordance with policies and regulations
  • Enter and maintain payroll data within the system, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to investigate and resolve payroll variances and data inconsistencies
  • Respond to employee questions related to pay, taxes, and deductions in a professional manner
  • Assist with payroll-related audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume setting
  • Strong understanding of U.S. payroll laws and multi-state tax requirements
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing and tax filings
  • Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now
  • Strong Excel skills and overall familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
