· This job is a member of the Payroll Operations team within the Finance Division.

  • Responsible for timely and accurate processing of assigned employee payroll checks including collection, review, input, edit, output and verification of payroll data.

What you'll do

As noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced. Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.

· Processes payroll data accurately by the required deadline

· Consistently applies company policy and government regulations to all processing

· Maintains the security and confidentiality of all payroll related information

· Reviews audit reports for accuracy and requests corrections as necessary

· Researches team member inquiries and provides solutions as required in a timely manner

· Knowledgeable of labor agreements and applicable processing requirements to specific workforce groups, such as unions

· Organizes and maintains records utilizing special processing that reduces the occurrences of incorrect payments to employees

· Adheres to existing SOX processing maps and requirements

· Assists in special projects, system testing, and other duties as assigned

· Documents and updates procedures

· Analyzes business processes, making changes as necessary to increase efficiencies, adhering to existing SOX processing maps and requirements

· Analyze large amounts of data using Microsoft tools such as Excel/Macros

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent or equivalent training/experience
  • 3 years of working in a high volume, multi-state payroll department and/or payroll, accounting or human resource experience
  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Experience with payroll systems (SAP preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience/training

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Above average customer experience and organizational skills
  • Ability to work as a team player in a high stress environment
  • Use of analytical skills to identify and address potential issues
  • Ability to explain and interpret complex payroll information to employees at all levels of the organization
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Excel, Word)
