Job description

We are looking for following resources asap for our client
Job Title: Senior Test Automation Engineer - Payments Platform
Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: 1 year

Rate: DOE
Type: contract
Required Qualifications
  • 7-10+ years of experience in test automation, with 5+ years supporting banking and payments platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Playwright, and API testing using RestAssured and Postman.
  • Experience in message validation including JSON, XML, and ISO 20022 schemas.
  • Hands-on exposure to file-based and real-time processing, asynchronous and event-driven architectures (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins), Git, Docker/Kubernetes, secrets management, and test parallelization.
  • Working knowledge of database validation using SQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience validating logs using Splunk.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end payment flows, including Wires, SWIFT (MT/MX, ISO 20022), RTP, FedNow, and CHIPS-from initiation through reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of SWIFT/ISO 20022 standards, FedNow principles, fraud and risk controls, and secure testing practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with contract testing using schema-first approaches (OpenAPI, AsyncAPI).
  • Domain exposure to reconciliations, liquidity, sanctions screening (OFAC), AML, and fraud decisioning.
  • Experience building automation for performance, soak, and resilience testing (throughput, latency, error budgets).
  • Hands-on experience with chaos, failover, and disaster recovery testing, including timeout handling and replay protection.
  • Familiarity with Grafana dashboards and monitoring tools.
