Overview of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and electric payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account information
- Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations
- Monitor accounts payable aging and ensure timely payment of obligations
- Support audits by providing requested documentation and reports
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records while ensuring confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience required
- Experience working in nonprofit environment is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and large ERP systems
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
