Asphalt Paving Operators
Salt Lake City, Utah
Currently seeking individuals with experience operating asphalt paving equipment to fill the positions of Paver Operator and Screed Operator in Salt Lake City, Utah. The ideal paving candidates should have 2 years of road construction experience and current driver's license that meets state requirements.
Responsibilities of the Asphalt Paving Operators
Perform daily inspection and maintenance and ensure that paver is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
Safely operate paver to achieve the specified paving width, depth and grade.
Perform maintenance and smaller repairs as needed.
Report to shop when equipment needs additional maintenance and repair.
Keep equipment clean and prepare equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
Maintain order, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
Comply with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
Follow Supervisor's instructions closely.
Requirements of the Asphalt Paving Operators
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 2 years of road construction experience, preferred
Current driver's license that meets state requirements
Physically able to walk, bend, kneel, lift various objects weighing up to 50 pounds, stretch, sit and work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Willing and able to travel and work some Saturdays as needed
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check
